About The Position

University of Michigan Health-West is seeking a part-time, Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP). The candidate will need to coordinate and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure a positive experience for all patients, families, and staff.

Requirements

  • State of Michigan Advanced Practice Licensure required.
  • Master’s degree with Neonatal Nurse Practitioner training and certification
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as an RN of which at least two are in a Level III NICU
  • Certification (ANA/AWHONN) as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (within 12 months of program completion if graduate NNP).

  • Experience working with culturally diverse patients
  • Fluent in Spanish, Vietnamese, Nepali and Bosnian

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates expertise in neonatal assessment, interpretation of physical and psychological status of infants and families, therapeutic interventions, and the implementation of the plan of care including discharge planning.
  • Discriminates between normal and abnormal findings obtained by history, physical screening, behavioral assessments, and in collaboration with the designated physician, implements an appropriate management plan.
