About The Position

This is an ongoing coverage need for a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NP) in a Level II NICU. The role involves inpatient coverage with an average census and requires a long-term permanent search. The NP will be responsible for providing care to neonates, including comprehensive patient assessments, developing treatment plans, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing medications, and providing patient education. Collaboration with physicians and other healthcare providers is essential, as is accurate and thorough documentation.

Requirements

  • Active Massachusetts licensure
  • Board certification
  • AHA BLS, PALS and NRP certifications
  • Minimum 1-year Neonatal experience or equivalent
  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree focused on an NP specialty (e.g., family practice, adult-gerontology, pediatrics)
  • Active and unencumbered advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) license in Massachusetts
  • National certification as an NP in a relevant specialty area by a recognized certifying body (e.g., American Academy of Nurse Practitioners [AANP])

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests
  • Prescribe medications and manage chronic conditions
  • Provide patient education and counseling on healthy lifestyle choices
  • Perform procedures as permitted by state regulations and APP specialty
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care
  • Document patient care accurately and thoroughly
