About The Position

HireNow Staffing is recruiting an experienced Nurse Manager (RN) – Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) for a full-time leadership opportunity in Houston, Texas. This position is designed for an experienced neonatal nurse leader with recent acute-care NICU leadership experience and a strong clinical foundation within a Level III or Level IV NICU. Working closely with the Director, the Nurse Manager will provide day-to-day clinical and operational leadership, support nursing staff, coordinate staffing and workflow, monitor patient safety and quality outcomes, and help advance the department's performance and long-term objectives.

Requirements

2+ years of NICU experience.
Recent acute-care NICU leadership experience within the last year.
Level III or Level IV NICU experience.
2+ years of management or Charge Nurse experience.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Current Texas Registered Nurse license or valid Multi-State Compact RN license. Nurses practicing under a Compact license must obtain a Texas RN license within 60 days of hire.
Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Strong clinical judgment and understanding of neonatal nursing practices.
Demonstrated leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving capabilities.

Strong knowledge of neonatal nursing standards, patient-safety practices, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

Provide daily clinical and operational leadership for the NICU.
Assist the Director with departmental activities, strategic priorities, and operational objectives.
Plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for NICU patients.
Provide clinical guidance and leadership to nursing staff.
Assist with staffing, scheduling, assignments, and daily unit operations.
Monitor clinical outcomes, patient-safety indicators, and quality metrics.
Participate in Performance Improvement and Quality Improvement initiatives.
Promote compliance with hospital policies, clinical standards, and regulatory requirements.
Support orientation, training, competency assessment, and professional development of nursing staff.
Serve as a clinical resource and mentor to nurses and other healthcare professionals.
Promote effective communication among nurses, physicians, ancillary departments, patients, and families.
Identify opportunities to improve patient care, workflow, staff engagement, and operational effectiveness.
Support appropriate staffing levels and efficient utilization of department resources.
Address patient care and staff concern promptly and escalate significant issues appropriately.
Promote accountability, teamwork, professional nursing practice, and patient safety.
Participate in leadership meetings, committees, and departmental initiatives.
