Neighborhood Victim Advocacy Program Director
About The Position
The Neighborhood Victim Advocacy Director provides leadership and oversight of the Neighborhood Victim Advocacy Program while maintaining a direct service caseload. This role involves direct client outreach and engagement, assessment, crisis intervention, safety planning, court advocacy, victim compensation assistance, support group facilitation, referrals to community resources, and other direct services. The position also includes conducting community outreach, selecting and implementing curricula, building collaborative relationships with community partners, providing supervision to program staff, developing program resources, attending professional trainings, maintaining client records, collecting and monitoring program data, preparing reports, and monitoring program outcomes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required (Master's preferred) in Social Work, Criminal Justice or a related field.
- Minimum Three years of progressively responsible experience in victim services or a related human services field.
- Previous direct service experience is required.
- Strong communication, organizational, and relationship-building & collaboration skills required.
- Must be comfortable conducting home visits.
- Access to reliable transportation on a consistent basis.
- Valid driver's license and automobile insurance required.
Nice To Haves
- Master's degree preferred.
- Supervisory experience is preferred.
- Understanding of the dynamics of violence and victimization and trauma-informed service delivery is preferred.
- Experience with documentation, data collection, report writing, and meeting contractual deadlines is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Maintain an active caseload and perform all core responsibilities of a Neighborhood Victim Advocate, including client outreach and engagement, assessment, crisis intervention, safety planning, court advocacy, victim compensation assistance, support group facilitation, referrals to community resources, and other direct services.
- Conduct community outreach to identify, recruit, and assess adult and child victims of crime.
- Select, implement, and facilitate agency-approved curricula during individual and group services.
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with community partners.
- Provide regularly scheduled individual and group supervision to program staff, including field accompaniment, observation, coaching, and professional development.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback and support to direct reports.
- Supervise student interns and support staff serving as task supervisors.
- Develop and maintain program resources that enhance service delivery and staff effectiveness.
- Attend professional trainings and maintain current knowledge of best practices related to victim services and trauma-informed care.
- Maintain timely, accurate, organized, and complete client records in accordance with agency, contractual, and legal requirements.
- Collect, monitor, and maintain program data to support contract compliance and quality service delivery.
- Prepare, review, and submit accurate and timely quarterly reports and all other required reports to funding sources by established deadlines.
- Monitor program outcomes and identify areas for improvement to ensure compliance with agency and funder expectations.
- Independently organize workload, prioritize competing responsibilities, and consistently meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with agency policy and applicable laws.
- Perform other related duties assigned by the Director of Community Programs.
