About The Position

The people of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) are united by a singular mission: ending cancer for life. Our specialized care teams provide personalized, compassionate, expert care to patients of all ages. Informed by basic research done at our Sloan Kettering Institute, scientists across MSK collaborate to conduct innovative translational and clinical research that is driving a revolution in our understanding of cancer as a disease and improving the ability to prevent, diagnose, and treat it. MSK is dedicated to training the next generation of scientists and clinicians, who go on to pursue our mission at MSK and around the globe. These position is for nursing students rotating at MSK as part of their clinical rotation. As part of their clinical experience, they will participate in the following under the supervision of their assigned preceptor.

Requirements

  • Must be a nursing student participating in a clinical rotation at MSK.
  • Must be able to perform direct patient care activities, including assessments, treatments, and documentation.
  • Must be able to observe and assist with clinical procedures, maintaining strict adherence to hospital protocols and safety standards.
  • Must be able to attend and actively engage in available educational activities, case discussions, and/or departmental rounds.
  • Must demonstrate professionalism, empathy, and ethical behavior in all interactions with patients, families, and the multi-disciplinary team.
  • Must follow MSK's infection control, safety, and privacy guidelines at all times (e.g., HIPAA compliance, hand hygiene).
  • Must be able to receive feedback from preceptor to improve skills and knowledge during the rotation.
