About The Position

The NDT Inspector is responsible for the non-destructive evaluation of gas turbine engine components. This includes utilizing NDT processes such as Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI), Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI), Laser inspection, C-Scan, eddy current, and X-Ray. The role also involves performing dimensional inspection, visual inspection, Certificate of Conformance (C of C) generation, incoming inspection, repair work scope generation, and handling regulatory paperwork in accordance with work instructions, blueprints, and customer specifications. The technician must perform all work in accordance with plant safety rules and maintain the highest quality standards. Routine preventative maintenance on machines and other labor work as required by production flow are also part of the responsibilities. The operator is responsible for preparing necessary quality documents and confirming the quality of their own work using inspection tools, adhering to product specifications, blueprints, drawings, and work instructions. A continuous improvement mindset and adherence to 5s / CPEX policies are expected.

Requirements

  • Must have HS Diploma or GED.
  • Strong shop mathematics, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, decimals and fractions required.
  • On the job experience of 3-5 years as inspector in manufacturing environment.
  • Must be able to follow instructions, read and interpret blue prints.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment.
  • Employed in current position at least 1 year (12 months).
  • Written confirmation of acceptable performance record/evaluation signed by the employee's supervisor and completed no more than 18 months prior to date of transfer application.
  • Maintain an acceptable level of performance including but not limited to absence of corrective action and/or resolution of previous corrective action.
  • Successfully pass any special screening processes required for the position of interest, including but not limited to background investigations, drug screens, and skills assessments.
  • Only US persons (U.S. citizen, U.S. naturalized citizen, U.S. permanent resident, holder of U.S. approved political asylee or refugee status) may be considered for this role.

Nice To Haves

  • On the job experience of 5+ years in manufacturing environment preferred.
  • MPI/FPI level II cert preferred
  • X-Ray level II cert preferred

Responsibilities

  • Performs tasks such as Laser inspection II, Ultrasonic inspection II, X-Ray inspection II, up to MPI/FPI level II processing and inspection.
  • May perform tasks such as dimensional inspection, visual inspection, C of C generation, incoming inspection, repair work scope generation and regulatory paperwork in accordance with work instructions, blueprints, and customer specifications.
  • Performs all work in accordance with plant safety rules and maintains highest quality standards in the execution of all assigned work.
  • Performs routine preventative maintenance on all machines and other routine labor work as required in accordance with production flow.
  • Prepares necessary quality documents and confirms quality of own work using inspection tools in accordance with product specifications, blueprints, drawings, and work instructions.
  • Adheres to all 5s / CPEX policies and has a continuous improvement mindset.
