NDT Technician

Sulzer•La Porte, TX

About The Position

The NDT Technician performs calibrations, tests, and evaluations to determine whether tested items meet applicable acceptance criteria. The role supports production by interpreting results against relevant codes, standards, and specifications; documenting test results; identifying and reporting non-conformities; and following inspection procedures, work instructions, safety policies, and ISO procedures. The position follows established procedures and works under close supervision, while making smaller or easier decisions autonomously. The technician may train and guide Level I technicians or trainees, sign off on Level I reports for acceptance, perform Level II tasks, and act as the NDT Supervisor’s designee when necessary. The role also involves communicating job status during shift changes, using precision measuring instruments, and operating overhead cranes and forklifts.
