About The Position
We are seeking an NDT Operator, Level 1, to join our team on the 2nd shift. This role involves performing X-ray inspections on parts to identify defects and deviations from specifications. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience in a manufacturing environment, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. You will be responsible for handling hazardous waste, processing parts according to specifications, maintaining a safe work area, and completing daily work records.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Minimum of 1 year experience as an operator in a manufacturing environment
- Able to meet deadlines and maintain accountability for quality and quantity
- Strong attendance record and dependable work history
- Comfortable working in a team-based problem-solving environment
- Strong sense of urgency and motivation
- Self-starter with ability to work independently
- Maintains a positive work environment and communicates effectively with customers, clients, coworkers, and supervisors
- Must pass visual acuity exam
- Willingness to study and prepare to pass Level 1 certification requirements
Nice To Haves
- Previous casting experience is a plus
- Able to work flexible hours
Responsibilities
- Test parts for defects and deviations from specifications
- Use precision measuring instruments and complex test equipment
- Handle hazardous waste according to MSDS and company policy
- Perform system capability checks
- Process parts according to applicable specifications
- Use manuals and source books to support inspection techniques
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of work area
- Meet efficiency standards
- Move inventory related to X-ray operations
- Stock new film and package exposed film for storage
- Complete daily work records, including operational coding and routing documentation
- Follow routing card sequence requirements
- Assist with additional duties assigned by supervisor or Level III technician
- Maintain safe, clean, and orderly work environment at all times
- Perform any additional responsibilities as assigned
