The NDT Technician is responsible for performing nondestructive testing examinations, interpreting and evaluating results, preparing written NDT reports, and developing NDT procedures and work instructions. This position requires certification in one or more NDT methods and demonstrated experience in technical writing for NDT procedures in accordance with applicable codes and standards.

Requirements

  • Evidence of exceptional ability (prior projects, portfolio of work, completed products, etc).
  • Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals.
  • Ability to perform trade studies and make clear recommendations using first principles and engineering fundamentals even with partial information.
  • Education requirement – High School Diploma and Professional Certifications or demonstration of ability.
  • Minimum years of experience – 7+ years

  • Experience in a fast-paced engineering or highly technical environment, with a resourceful approach to delivering under tight timelines or budget constraints.
  • AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or CWS
  • Strong fabrication background
  • Structural and piping experience
  • Welding process knowledge
  • Strong communication skills
  • Hands-on technical experience

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain NDT procedures, techniques, and work instructions in accordance with applicable codes, standards, specifications, and quality requirements.
  • Perform NDT examinations, interpret and evaluate results, and prepare clear, accurate inspection reports and supporting documentation.
  • Support development and qualification of WPSs and PQRs, including weld process qualification and evaluation of new welding processes.
  • Interpret applicable construction, welding, fabrication, and inspection codes to establish appropriate examination and acceptance requirements.
  • Develop inspection methodologies and support production troubleshooting, root-cause investigations, and resolution of weld and fabrication quality issues.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, welding, and quality teams while providing technical guidance and mentorship to NDT personnel.
