If this is the culture and work environment you are seeking, then EBAD is the place for you! EBAD is seeking an experienced NDT Technician Level II to join our team in Simsbury, Connecticut. This position reports directly to the Responsible Level III Radiography Manager and supports production, development, qualification, and special NDT projects throughout the organization. The successful candidate will perform and evaluate nondestructive testing inspections utilizing Radiography (Film and Digital), Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI), and Neutron Radiography (N-Ray) methods. This individual will support product acceptance, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, customer requirements, and continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining the highest standards of safety, integrity, and technical excellence.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Certified NAS-410 Level II in Radiographic Testing (Film or Digital) or ability to meet EBAD qualification requirements.
  • Minimum 5 years of aerospace, defense, NDT, or quality inspection experience preferred.
  • Experience interpreting radiographic images and applying acceptance criteria.
  • Familiarity with ASTM standards applicable to aerospace radiography.
  • Working knowledge of NAS-410 qualification requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, work instructions, and customer requirements.
  • Proficiency in documentation, traceability, and quality record maintenance.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a production team environment.
  • Ability to operate calibrated measurement equipment.
  • Ability to generate radiographic film and digital images while adhering to approved techniques.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Current or prior Level II certification in FPI.
  • Current or prior Neutron Radiography qualification or experience.
  • Experience in Film and Digital Radiography environments.
  • Familiarity with AS9100 and NADCAP requirements.
  • Lean Manufacturing experience.
  • Experience creating radiographic techniques and supporting qualification projects.
  • Experience supporting customer audits and technical reviews.
  • Demonstrated capability and desire to progress toward Level III certification.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and evaluate Film and Computed Radiography (CR) inspections of aerospace and defense components.
  • Perform and evaluate Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI) activities in accordance with approved procedures and customer specifications.
  • Support Neutron Radiography inspection operations and image interpretation activities.
  • Create, review, and interpret radiographic images in accordance with ASTM, NAS-410, customer, and internal process requirements.
  • Develop and maintain radiographic technique sheets and inspection instructions.
  • Verify dimensional requirements using calibrated measurement equipment and engineering drawings.
  • Complete and maintain accurate inspection documentation, travelers, certification records, and discrepancy reports.
  • Assist in maintaining calibration, processing, and system performance requirements for radiographic and inspection equipment.
  • Support internal audits, customer audits, NADCAP audits, and safety assessments.
  • Manage radiographic image databases and record-retention systems.
  • Assist in retrieval and review of archived inspection records and customer requests.
  • Investigate nonconforming conditions and support corrective action activities.
  • Support Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and Program teams with inspection planning and problem-solving activities.
  • Maintain department supplies, consumables, and inspection materials.
  • Assist with training, qualification, and mentoring activities for Level I personnel as needed.
  • Participate in Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
