About The Position

The NDT Level 2 Inspector is responsible for performing non-destructive testing, visual and dimensional inspections, mechanical testing, and other quality assurance activities to ensure wire, cable, assemblies, and aerospace components conform to customer requirements, industry standards, specifications, and internal procedures. This position specializes in Penetrant (PT) inspection and requires a high level of attention to detail, technical knowledge, and accuracy when identifying, evaluating, and documenting potential defects.

Requirements

  • Current NAS 410 NDT Level 2 certification in Penetrant (PT) inspection required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of NDT principles, procedures, and applicable inspection standards.
  • Ability to detect, evaluate, and document minute defects and indications.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, specifications, purchase orders, and inspection instructions.
  • Ability to follow written instructions, procedures, and inspection requirements.
  • Computer literate, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work overtime when required.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Aerospace industry experience preferred, but not required.
  • Experience with D365 preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, clean, and inspect parts prior to performing Penetrant (PT) and other inspections.
  • Set up, calibrate, operate, and maintain NDT equipment used for Penetrant inspections.
  • Perform non-destructive testing in accordance with applicable industry standards, customer specifications, and internal procedures.
  • Interpret and evaluate NDT indications and determine whether components meet applicable acceptance criteria.
  • Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of wire, cable, assemblies, and aerospace parts to ensure product conformance to customer requirements.
  • Perform mechanical testing and other quality inspections as required.
  • Review orders, shop travelers, customer purchase orders, blueprints, specifications, and inspection instructions to ensure compliance with customer requirements.
  • Perform process and product audits on the production floor to ensure compliance with procedures and specifications.
  • Gather samples for metallography and other required testing.
  • Print and review finished product labels for accuracy and compliance.
  • Assist in the raw material/incoming rod receiving process by performing inspections and tests of material as specified.
  • Input inspection data and prepare Certificates of Conformance for products being shipped.
  • Accurately document and report inspection findings, test results, certifications, and nonconforming conditions.
  • Maintain required inspection, testing, and NDT records.
  • Communicate quality issues and nonconforming conditions to the Quality Assurance Coordinator/Supervisor and appropriate production personnel.
  • Provide support, consultation, and quality-related input to the Shift Supervisor.
  • Follow all safety policies, procedures, and applicable industry requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
