About The Position

Performs Level II nondestructive testing of machined aerospace components. Inspection methods include Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI) & Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI). This position is subject to meeting U.S. export compliance and/or U.S. Government contracting citizenship eligibility requirements. Parker Lord’s Dayton facility manufactures passive vibration mounts for commercial and military aerospace applications. Our core competencies include machining and rubber-to-metal bonding, and we hold multiple industry and aerospace customer certifications, including AS9100 and NADCAP.

Requirements

  • Understands and demonstrates comprehension of drawings, blueprints and Manufacturing Work Instructions
  • Must be detail oriented to keep accurate records and files
  • Demonstrated ability to solve technical problems with limited information
  • Commitment to and demonstration of LORD Performance Principles
  • Able to communicate effectively with management, and co-workers to promote strong working relationships and create an environment focused on teamwork
  • Flexible with work and job assignments and willing to perform any function as needed
  • Must be dependable and available to work overtime when required
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office including Outlook
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Willingness to pursue NDT Level II Certification
  • Self-motivated and ability to work effectively and efficiently with limited supervision

Nice To Haves

  • Prior NDT experience and level II Certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Performs Level II Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection and/or Magnetic Particle Inspection
  • Cleans and maintains NDT equipment
  • Inspects parts per applicable customer acceptance criteria and documents results in accordance with company, customer and/or industry requirements
  • Cleans and etches parts as required
  • Performs process audits as required
  • Interfaces with customer on a limited basis (NDT issues)
  • Actively participates in LEAN projects and activities
  • Adheres to all safety guidelines and procedures
  • Other assignments as required
