About The Position

The Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Inspector is responsible for performing inspections of aircraft components, assemblies, and materials using approved non-destructive testing methods to ensure compliance with customer requirements, regulatory standards, and company quality procedures. The NDT Inspector identifies defects, evaluates component integrity, and documents inspection results while maintaining compliance with FAA, OEM, and industry standards.

Requirements

  • Strong Knowledge of FAA regulations, aerospace quality standards, and repair station procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and technical manuals.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Ability to identify defects and determine compliance with acceptance criteria.
  • Proficient in documentation and recordkeeping.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and inspection software.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Will participate in and support safety initiatives, safe work practices, and compliance.
  • Will participate in safety activities including the following: immediately reporting hazards, unsafe work practices, and accidents/injuries.
  • Will follow all safety rules, FAA regulations, PPE compliance, and equipment operation requirements.
  • Be able to work in an Aerospace repair station, manufacturing facility, or maintenance environment.
  • Exposure to machinery, chemicals, noise, and aircraft components.
  • Requires sitting or standing for extended periods of time.
  • Requires frequent walking, bending, and reaching to shoulder level.
  • Requires occasional squatting, lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling weight up to 50 pounds.
  • Requires repetitive hand movement.
  • Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
  • Must pass a color perception examination, near vision test or equivalent.
  • Ability to operate office machines and equipment and troubleshooting problems with equipment as well as specialized NDT equipment and tooling.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required certifications.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical school or vocational training in NDT, aviation maintenance, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of NDT inspection experience in aerospace, aviation, manufacturing, or related industry preferred.
  • Experience in an FAA Part 145 Repair Station environment preferred.
  • Current Level II certification in one or more NDT methods in accordance with NAS 410 or SNT-TC-1A preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret inspection results and determine acceptability of components in accordance with applicable specifications, manuals, and standards.
  • Review work orders, engineering drawings, technical data, repair manuals, and inspection procedures.
  • Identify defects, discontinuities, cracks, corrosion, and other material conditions that may affect airworthiness.
  • Complete inspection reports, test records, and other required documentation accurately and timely.
  • Ensure all inspection equipment is properly calibrated and maintained.
  • Maintain certification records and comply with NAS 410, SNT-TC-1A, FAA, and customer requirements.
  • Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits.
  • Segregate and document non-conforming materials and components.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including proper handling of chemicals and hazardous materials.
  • Coordinate with Production, Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Repair Station personnel regarding inspection findings.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
