NC Pre-K Lead Teacher
About The Position
We are seeking dedicated NC Pre-K Lead Teachers to oversee classroom activities, adhering to standards set by the NC Division of Child Development and Early Education and aligning with the objectives of the current NC Pre-K Curriculum. The role involves creating a nurturing and positive environment for children and their families, fostering strong bonds and supporting their comprehensive development. Responsibilities include designing and executing learning experiences that encompass physical health, social-emotional growth, cognitive skills, and creative expression. Regular assessments will be conducted to monitor children's progress towards School Readiness Goals, tailoring the curriculum to meet individual needs, including those with disabilities. Upholding health and safety protocols is paramount, ensuring a secure and clean environment by adhering to strict procedures for hygiene, food handling, illness management, and child supervision.
Requirements
- At least 18 years old
- Possess a high school diploma or GED
- Minimum of one year's experience in preschool teaching
- Hold a Bachelor's Degree
- Actively pursuing either NC Birth through Kindergarten (B-K) or Preschool Add-on Standard Professional II licensure
- One of the following qualifications: an NC Initial Provisional Lateral Entry B-K License, a North Carolina K-6 license with a provisional Preschool Add-on license, a license from another state accompanied by an NC Provisional B-K license, or a degree in a related field that qualifies you for an NC Initial Provisional Lateral Entry B-K License.

- Capable of meeting the physical demands of working with children
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate lessons and activities for the NC PreK classroom
- Keep the classroom safe, organized, and compliant with licensing and ratio requirements
- Observe and document each child's development and share progress with families regularly
- Build relationships with parents through daily communication and scheduled conferences
- Complete required documentation including attendance, incident reports, and assessments
