About The Position

BAE Systems is seeking Navy ACNT/CEC Technicians with experience in performing comprehensive component and system level maintenance for shipboard Systems. The work is performed at the Surface Combat Systems Center (SCSC) in Wallops Island, VA. The SCSC is located on a barrier island on the Eastern Shore of Virginia and is a tenant of the NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility. SCSC provides live combat systems suites with platform specific radars and sensors and supports the following functions: combat system lifetime support engineering, platform certification, operational and technical evaluation, combat system training, interoperability testing and participates in at-sea exercises. SCSC provides a high-fidelity representative combat system of every ship in the AEGIS, Ship Self Defense System (SSDS) fleet today and those planned in the future. The selected candidate will perform comprehensive equipment and system level maintenance on all CEC systems at the AEGIS and SSDS facilities in SCSC Wallops Island VA Provide system/equipment configuration and operational support for all deployed baseline AEGIS and SSDS variants Schedule planned maintenance actions utilizing the SKED program in accordance with the Navy’s Maintenance Material Management (3M) system and also be responsible for documenting all maintenance actions, including repair part requisitions, using the OMNS-NG program.

Requirements

  • High School/GED
  • More than three years of demonstrated experience assessing, troubleshooting, and performing corrective maintenance and preventive maintenance on systems and equipment
  • PQS 301 qualification
  • Willing and able to obtain PQS 301 qualification within 3 months of employment (if not already qualified)
  • Willing and able to perform in a variety of 40 hour work-week configurations, including: Monday-Friday (5 x 8) 1st Shift, Monday-Friday (5 x 8) 2nd Shift, Variable 4 x 10 shifts that may include weekends and may be 1st or 2nd shift, Sliding (5 x 8) work weeks (Sunday-Thursday or Tuesday-Saturday) and may be 1st or 2nd shift
  • Must be a US citizen
  • Able to obtain a Secret level clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Active DoD Secret security clearance
  • Certified ETA Fiber Optic Installer
  • Experience trouble shooting and repairing Low Level Serial and Parallel interface cables
  • Experience with Network devices
  • Understanding of Operating Systems, preferably RedHat or UNIX

Responsibilities
