The Naval Architecture Manager will be responsible for a diverse group of engineers and designers. The manager will be a front line management representative and responsible for providing objective-oriented direction to subordinates utilizing management guidelines and general policies. Additionally, the manager will be responsible for supervisory personnel tasks including employee evaluations, training, growth, mentoring, and disciplinary actions. Responsible for scheduling, performance, and success of Ingalls Shipbuilding Incline Experiments, Translations, Mooring, Dry Docking, Blocking, Ship Stability, Longitudinal Strength, Tank Capacity Curves, and Heavy Lifts. Experienced and knowledgeable in Naval Architecture technical requirements and calculation methodologies. Frequent contacts with internal personnel and outside customer representatives at various management levels concerning operations or scheduling of projects. Conducts technical briefings and discussions with internal and external customers.
