We are seeking a compassionate and skilled female Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) who is fluent in Navajo to provide one-on-one nursing care to a patient in their home in Mexican Water, Arizona. This is a 1099 contract opportunity with a consistent schedule of 12 hours of nursing care per week. Care will be provided in the patient’s residence in accordance with a physician-established plan of care. Qualified nurses are eligible for a $2,500 bonus: $1,250 paid after 90 days $1,250 paid after 180 days Why This Opportunity? Once a patient is accepted into the program, there is no expiration date on the benefit. This allows caregivers to build meaningful, long-term relationships with their patients and provide continuity of care for years to come.

Requirements

  • Current RN or LPN license.
  • Navajo-speaking required.
  • Compassionate and patient-focused approach to care.
  • Ability to provide care in the patient’s residence.
  • Successful completion of a background check.
  • Offers are contingent upon successful completion of a background check.
  • Graduate of an accredited college or university, Associate or Baccalaureate School of Nursing
  • Current State or Compact License as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.
  • Current CPR certification
  • TB test and physical examination.
  • Maintain required insurance.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to stand or walk for prolonged periods, with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and move patients.
  • Ability to operate under stressful conditions and make quick decisions.
  • Must have dependable transportation and be willing to commute to the patient’s home.
  • Ability to provide basic medical management up to medically fragile end of life care.

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ years of experience as an RN/LPN in a clinical or home health setting.
  • Ability to assist with two person assist

Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate, individualized nursing care in the patient’s home.
  • Follow and implement the physician-established plan of care.
  • Advocate for the patient’s needs, comfort, and well-being.
  • Work one-on-one with the patient to support their ongoing care needs.
  • Collaborate with CNAs, HHAs, Case Managers, and the patient’s physicians.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation and communicate relevant changes in the patient’s condition.
  • Execute physician prescribed plans of care.
  • Complete compliant documentation of the care provided in the system of record.
  • Manage and administer prescribed medication, treatment, and therapies.
  • Conduct patient assessments, coordination of care.
  • Perform various activities associated with daily living.
  • Monitor vitals and GI intake and output.
  • Assess skin integrity and administer wound care.
  • Monitor for changes in the patient’s condition such as weight loss/gain, self-care abilities, and indicators of disease progression.
  • Communicate with family members, physicians, case managers, and other prescribed individuals regarding the health of the patients.
  • Provide education and training to the patient, their family, and/or the Home Health Aide.
  • Work with patients to be done one-on-one in the patients home to provide for a comfortable environment.
  • Collaborate with and supervise Certified Nursing Assistants and Personal Care Attendants.
  • Perform other personal care services as necessary to meet the patient’s needs.
