About The Position

A Naturalist manages the maintenance and preservation of Municipal nature trails and wildlife reserves. The work of this class involves no supervisory duties or responsibilities. Incumbents receive general supervision from a technical superior. Employees in this class work a conventional work week that may involve evening and weekend work. Work is performed in Municipal nature trails, parks, and wildlife preserves where such conditions as the seasonal extremes of weather, poisonous plants and insects, and difficult terrain may be encountered. Work requires moderate physical exertion when hiking, moving large plants and logs, and trapping animals.

Requirements

Have a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with courses in the biological or environmental sciences.
Have a valid Maryland Class C Noncommercial driver's license or an equivalent driver's license and eligible to obtain a Baltimore City driver’s permit.
PROVISIONAL DRIVER’S LICENSE OR LEARNER PERMITS ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE.
