About The Position

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) is seeking energetic, passionate people who enjoy the outdoors to fill the role of part-time permanent Natural Resources Technician 1 within the Division of Parks & Watercraft. This position will be headquartered at Hocking Hills State Park in Hocking County, Ohio. This is a permanent part-time position budgeted for approximately 32 hours per week. The role involves working with customers and staff to provide exceptional customer service, maintaining the park and its facilities, and performing various field operations. The position requires working evenings, weekends, and holidays. The starting hourly pay is $20.05 with multiple pay increases over the first 2.5 years, reaching an end salary of $21.48/hr. Cost of living adjustments and longevity pay supplements after five years of service may also apply. The State of Ohio is a drug-free workplace.

Requirements

  • Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition, subtraction, multiplication & division & in reading & speaking common English vocabulary
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above

Responsibilities

  • Work with customers and staff diligently to provide exceptional customer service and maintain the park with customer satisfaction in mind
  • Take daily tasks and execute them in a timely manner
  • Maintain campgrounds and all other recreational facilities, grounds, &/or equipment
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment for our staff and visitors
  • Work in different field operations: carpentry, plumbing, electrical, roofing, masonry, roadway operations, mechanic, operate machinery, and chainsaws
