The main purpose of this position is to administer a project to prepare, review and amend fishery management plans for specified fish species in Natural Resources Article, §4-215, Annotated Code of Maryland and any other recreationally, commercially, and ecologically valuable fish/shellfish species. Integrate management measures in those plans with interstate agreements, recommendations, ecosystem processes, and climatological factors. This position also represents Fishing and Boating Services on the Maryland Commission on Climate Change’s Adaptation and Resiliency Working Group (ARWG). Collaboration through the ARWG will assist DNR in coordinating state level adaptation and resilience efforts by identifying opportunities to incorporate climate change into management practices to reflect anticipated future conditions and advance adaptation.
