About The Position

Kimley-Horn's Denver, Colorado (CO) office is seeking a Natural Gas Engineer with 6+ years of experience to join their team! This is not a remote position. The role involves leading and coordinating multidisciplinary engineering design efforts, providing technical leadership for Natural Gas pipeline and facility engineering, and designing pipeline facilities such as metering/regulating stations and compressor stations. Responsibilities include the development of PFDs, P&IDs, plans, sections, details, and associated bills of materials, performing engineering calculations, coordinating supporting activities, and preparing material and equipment specifications. The role also entails leading proposal development and scope definition.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of relevant engineering design experience
  • Bachelors or Masters from an ABET accredited university in Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Civil Engineering or related field
  • Professional Engineering (P.E.) License (or ability to obtain within 12 months)

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency with 49 CFR Part 192 and ASME B31.8
  • Experience with task management, concept design, and assisting project management tasks
  • Familiar with coordinating with clients, attending client meetings, and overseeing quality standards
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D - CADWorx

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering design efforts, working closely with Civil/Structural, Electrical, Instrumentation & Control, and other disciplines.
  • Provide technical leadership for Natural Gas pipeline and facility engineering.
  • Design of pipeline facilities such as metering/regulating stations and compressor stations.
  • Development of PFDs, P&IDs, plans, sections, details, and associated bills of materials.
  • Perform engineering calculations to support technical studies, reports, and design decisions.
  • Coordinate supporting activities including surveying, geotechnical investigations, permitting, and land acquisition.
  • Prepare material and equipment specifications to support procurement and factory acceptance testing.
  • Lead proposal development and scope definition, including conceptual designs, execution plans, cost estimates, and schedules.
