Responsibilities include locating underground utility lines, confirm condition of located lines, and installation and maintenance of natural gas distribution lines. This role ensures the correct and safe location of gas and water lines, reviews and interprets architectural drawings, blueprints, and maps to identify utility services, and maintains records of work activities. The apprentice will install natural gas utility lines, meters, and boxes, conduct leak surveys and repairs, maintain meter and rectifier stations, fuse pipes, connect services for customers, inspect piping, and install appliances. They will also conduct testing and inspections, take readings, perform pressure tests, and transport materials. General maintenance of vehicles, equipment, and tools is required, along with adherence to safety procedures and inventory management. The role involves preparing various forms and reports, and regular attendance is mandatory. Some nights and weekends may be required.
