About The Position

CarbonBetter is an energy logistics and sustainability company seeking an entrepreneurial trader to build and scale a physical natural gas business. This role offers the autonomy to develop market strategy, build customer relationships, create new commercial opportunities, and grow a team, with the backing of an established company. The position reports directly to the Head of Trading and is responsible for creating long-term value and shaping the future of CarbonBetter's physical natural gas platform. The role may be based in Austin, TX, or within the trader's primary market.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in U.S. physical natural gas markets
• Demonstrated success originating and growing profitable physical natural gas business
• Proven ability to develop new customer relationships and create sustainable sources of P&L
• Deep understanding of Gulf Coast pipeline systems, transportation, basis markets, and physical logistics
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a desire to build and scale a business over the long term
• Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to build high-performing teams

Responsibilities

• Build and grow a profitable physical natural gas trading book
• Develop new customer, supplier, and counterparty relationships
• Identify and capitalize on evolving market opportunities
• Execute physical transactions while actively managing market and operational risk
• Work closely with the middle office, and accounting to ensure flawless execution
• Mentor and build a team, including schedulers, as your business grows
