About The Position

The Native Pathways Program (NPP) is an undergraduate degree-earning program that focuses on Indigenous and western content through an Indigenous pedagogy lens. NPP faculty collaboratively develop curriculum that aligns with an interdisciplinary and Indigenous framework. We are seeking qualified individuals to teach between 4-12 credits per quarter broadly in Native American and Indigenous studies and Indigenous Humanities. This may include teaching in the core NPP curriculum or a 12-credit interdisciplinary team-taught course. Instruction can be delivered remotely or in-person at the Olympia Evergreen campus site, or other NPP off-campus sites during Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Additionally, in-person instruction includes three weekends (Saturday and Sunday) per quarter at the Evergreen Longhouse.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Native American and Indigenous Studies, the humanities, or relevant fields of study.
• Ability to teach online (using Canvas) and in-person modalities.
• 2 years’ experience teaching at the college level and/or successful experience working with tribal and Indigenous students and communities.

Nice To Haves

• Ph.D. in Native American and Indigenous Studies or a humanities field.
• 3 years working with Native American and Indigenous student populations in education.
• 5 years’ experience teaching at the college level.
• Record of peer-reviewed scholarly publication.

Responsibilities
