Springfield Public Schools seeks outstanding candidates for the Part-Time (6.5 hours per day) position of Native American Youth Coordinator. This position provides services to self-identified Native American youth grades pre K-12 and maintains services and activities at the Chifin Native Youth Center at Two Rivers/Dos Rios Elementary School. The individual in this position will support the attainment of eight objectives that are required of Federal Title VI (Indian Education) funded programs: Increase academic achievement. Increase knowledge of cultural identity and awareness. Enhance problem-solving and cognitive skills development and directly support attainment of State standards. Increase school attendance rate. Increase graduation rate. Increase prevention activities for violence, suicide, and substance abuse. Increase parent participation. Increase support for at-risk students. The individual in this position will work Monday-Friday from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. This position will involve attending or hosting occasional events after school, in the evening or on weekends which will replace some hours typically scheduled during the week. This position has a 183 work day calendar and works during the months that school is in session.
