Position Description Title: National Sales Manager Department: Sales Immediate Supervisor: VP Sales Status: Exempt Salaried Position Purpose: In this role, you will be responsible for managing existing customers relationships while simultaneously working to expand our business within existing and new accounts in the assigned territory. This position will be a key member of our sales force and will work remotely covering assigned accounts mainly in Canada and the U.S.

Requirements

  • Five plus years of sales experience with a proven track record.
  • Excellent knowledge of our industry and products as well as industrial packaging experience.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment coupled with a strong customer service orientation.
  • Superior communication & interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and influence
  • Inspire confidence among customers and fellow employees
  • Sharp and innovative professional with exceptionally strong organizational and negotiation skills
  • Technical skills in strategic and sales planning.
  • Ability to develop and execute a market strategy - to think ahead and plan over 1-3-year time span.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
  • Problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level.
  • Competency with MS Office Suite.

  • Ideally based in Central U.S. with the ability to travel.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure effective sales coverage is maintained for the territory and that priorities and objectives for each account are continually monitored and updated.
  • Prepare detailed annual revenue and expense budgets and monitor performance versus sales budget.
  • Support marketing and product development by providing regular feedback regarding customer requirements, new market opportunities and competitive developments.
  • Recommend and monitor account support programs through customer service, credit, warehousing, scheduling and shipping, to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Submit monthly forecasts and immediately advise of substantive changes between submissions.
  • Work closely with Director of Sales to coordinate field activities within the territory.
  • Penetrate and develop specific market segments within the region.
  • Prospect and target high volume end users.
  • Assist in developing new products based on the market.
  • Run product trials and evaluations through sales cycle.
  • Monitor sales vs. forecasts and trends in relation to company objectives and competitive activities.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers by supporting their events and attending related trade shows and other networking activities.
  • Travel up to 50%.
  • Related tasks as requested by supervisor.
