National Sales Executive

Stratus,
Hybrid

About The Position

The National Sales Executive is responsible for driving new business and revenue growth by winning new national and multi-site customers across Stratus' core brand implementation offerings, including exterior signage, interior branding, site refreshes, digital signage, energy and lighting, and other complementary solutions. This is a true hunter sales role. Success is driven by proactively creating opportunities, opening doors, building a pipeline from the ground up, and converting targeted prospects into new Stratus customers. This role is not primarily focused on managing an inherited book of business; the National Sales Executive is expected to spend the majority of time identifying, pursuing, and closing net-new opportunities while partnering internally to ensure a strong transition after the sale.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and relevant sales experience will be considered.
  • 5+ years of successful B2B Sales, Business Development, or National Accounts experience, with a strong emphasis on new-business acquisition strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in a hunter/new-logo sales role, including personally generating pipeline, opening new accounts, and consistently meeting or exceeding sales quotas.
  • Proven ability to create opportunities from the ground up rather than relying primarily on inbound leads, inherited accounts, or an established book of business.
  • Experience selling to national, regional, or multi-location organizations and managing complex, multi-stakeholder sales opportunities.
  • Experience selling exterior signage, interior branding, construction/site refresh programs, digital signage, architectural products, energy/lighting solutions, or other physical products and services to multi-site customers is strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to identify prospective customers, gain access to decision-makers, develop executive-level relationships, navigate complex organizations, and convert opportunities into long-term partnerships.
  • Strong understanding of consultative and solution-based selling, with the ability to uncover business needs and translate them into differentiated customer solutions.
  • Experience managing longer, complex sales cycles, including RFP/RFQ responses, proposal development, presentations, pricing discussions, and contract negotiations.
  • Strong business and financial acumen with the ability to understand pricing, margins, revenue opportunities, customer economics, and profitable growth.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong presentation, storytelling, negotiation, and executive communication skills.
  • Highly self-motivated, competitive, resilient, and results-oriented, with the urgency and persistence required to build new business in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational, time-management, and problem-solving capabilities, with the discipline to manage a national territory, multiple opportunities, and consistent prospecting activity.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across Sales, Business Development, Marketing, Estimating, Operations, Project Management, Finance, and other internal teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience with Salesforce or another CRM platform is preferred.
  • Ability to travel as necessary to support prospect and customer meetings, presentations, site visits, industry events, and business development activities. Estimated travel: 20-30%.
