National Sales Director

About The Position

We are seeking a high-energy, results-oriented National Sales Director to lead our sales organization to new heights. You will be responsible for developing and executing a national sales strategy that drives revenue growth, expands our market share, and enhances the customer experience across all service lines. The ideal candidate has a proven track record in the home services industry, specifically HVAC, and knows how to scale sales teams in a fast-paced, multi-location environment.

Requirements

  • 10+ years in Sales Management, with at least 5 years in a Director-level role within Home Services (HVAC preferred).
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • Expert-level knowledge of CRM systems (ServiceTitan, Salesforce, or similar) and data analytics.
  • Proven ability to lead remote or multi-state teams and manage multi-million dollar budgets.
  • Exceptional negotiation and public speaking skills; able to inspire a large workforce.
  • Growth Mindset: You don't just hit targets; you look for ways to redefine them.
  • Education Focused: The ability to develop impactful training with both Comfort Advisors, Selling Technicians and Service Technicians with live role play capabilities.
  • Analytical Rigor: You make decisions based on data, not just "gut feelings."
  • Adaptability: You can pivot strategies quickly based on seasonal shifts or economic changes.
  • Customer-Centric: You understand that in HVAC, we aren't just selling boxes; we are selling comfort and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement annual and long-term sales plans to achieve corporate revenue and profitability goals.
  • Develop standardized sales processes for Comfort Advisors and technicians with a strong focus on the in-home consultive selling.
  • Architect and drive regular education and training sessions throughout the company including “boot camps” for new Comfort Advisors and Selling Technicians.
  • Ability collaborate and train service technicians the proper in-home communications skills while also driving a strong focus on tech generated leads.
  • Standardize the sales process—from initial lead to final installation—ensuring a seamless "white-glove" experience for the homeowner.
  • Recruit, mentor, and lead Regional Sales Managers.
  • Build a "best-in-class" sales culture focused on training, accountability, and career growth.
  • Establish KPIs for sales conversion, close rates, average ticket size, financing utilization and customer satisfaction/NPS.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and "ride-alongs" to ensure brand consistency.
  • Develop and implement performance improvement coaching as needed.
  • Develop a “hunting” culture for the sales team and implement processes for local networking and business development.
  • Partner with Marketing to optimize lead generation and with Operations to ensure sales commitments align with install capacity.
  • Work closely with the Technician teams on customer communication and replacement lead generation opportunities.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends, competitor movements, and emerging HVAC technologies (e.g., heat pumps, smart home integration).
