About The Position

This role is for a National Medical Education Manager (NMEM) focused on the GU Oncology portfolio, located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The NMEM will be responsible for developing and executing the National Medical Education Strategic Plan, collaborating with Medical Directors, and leading cross-functional teams. The position is within the Innovative Medicine division of Johnson & Johnson, which focuses on developing medicines for the future and championing patients. Requirements

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree and 7 years of progressive business experience in the pharmaceutical/medical education industry OR a Master's degree and 5 years of progressive business experience in the pharmaceutical/medical education industry is required.
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical regulated standards (IMC Code of Ethical Practices, ICH GCP, cGMPs, and/or Pharmacovigilance standards) and experience working with Health Care Compliance functions are required.
  • Knowledge of medical education field and adult learning theory is required.
  • Strong leadership, issue resolution skills, and prioritization skills are required.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to showcase leadership of cross-functional project team members are required.
  • Proficiency in metrics, reporting, and communicating complex information effectively is required.
  • Experience in project management and continuous quality improvement processes is required.
  • Superior attention to detail and organizational skills are required.
  • Ability to work in a team and matrix environment is required.
  • Understanding of agile ways of working and change management/adoption is required.

Nice To Haves

  • An advanced medical or science degree is an asset.
  • Solid tumor medical education experience strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience in bladder or prostate cancer is an asset.
  • Bilingualism in French and English is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Leading the development of the National Medical Education Strategic Plan, including conducting needs assessments, setting healthcare professional (HCP) learning objectives, and calendarization in alignment with the Medical Director and internal SOPs.
  • Deriving national insights on HCP educational gaps and learning needs, and contextualizing them regionally.
  • Leading all aspects of the development of educational assets based on assessed unmet educational needs, as well as identifying speakers and faculty.
  • Measuring and reviewing the impact of medical education activities, providing insight analyses, and driving quality improvement.
  • Responsible for TA budget(s) for medical education.
  • Encouraging coordination and collaboration amongst cross-functional partners.
  • Understanding the needs of the TA(s) and finding opportunities for medication education.
  • Tracking critical metrics to drive continuous improvement of medical education.
  • Staying up-to-date on advances in medical education, technologies, tools, and industry trends to support the application of adult learning principles.
  • Ongoing coordination, collaboration, and partnership with multiple functions, including Health Care Compliance, Sales, Learning & Development, Marketing, and Access to effectively implement key activities and support broader business goals.
