About The Position

Toyota Financial Services (TFS) is seeking a passionate and highly skilled National Manager, Fraud Prevention to lead the enterprise fraud strategy. This role is crucial for protecting customers, dealers, and the business by preventing, detecting, and reducing fraud across the entire customer and dealer lifecycle. The position involves overseeing fraud investigations, cross-functional controls, team leadership, and reporting to senior leadership to ensure effective fraud risk management and continuous improvement. The Fraud department aims to proactively prevent, detect, and investigate fraud to minimize losses, safeguard customers and the business, and enhance trust within Toyota's ecosystem.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree.
10+ years of progressive, relevant professional experience in fraud prevention, fraud investigations, and/or financial crimes compliance, ideally within auto finance, banking, or consumer lending.
Demonstrated subject matter expertise in fraud prevention strategy, with experience spanning both analytical (data/strategy-driven) and operational (investigations/compliance execution) roles.
Technical and analytical fluency — experience engaging with IT/Product and Data Science/Consumer Risk partners on system design and strategy development.
Strong working knowledge of BSA/AML, OFAC, and FDIC regulatory requirements for banking institutions.
Proven experience building or scaling fraud detection frameworks, analytics capabilities, and investigative operations.
Deep subject matter expertise in fraud risk and financial crimes.
Strong regulatory and compliance acumen.
Experience in managing regulatory exams, audits, or third-party assessments related to fraud.
Strong track record of leading and developing teams, including managers and individual contributors.
Exceptional executive communication and presence, with the ability to influence cross-functionally and present effectively to senior leadership, boards, and regulators.
Strategic thinking with strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills.
Demonstrated operational excellence and process rigor.

Nice To Haves

Advanced degree – MBA or JD.
Experience within auto finance, captive finance companies, or FDIC-regulated banking institutions.
Familiarity with dealer/indirect lending fraud typologies.
Experience implementing AI/ML-based fraud detection tools and identity verification platforms.

Responsibilities

Develop, own, and continuously evolve Toyota Financial Services enterprise fraud prevention strategy, ensuring alignment with business growth, customer experience, and risk appetite objectives.
Lead the design and deployment of fraud prevention strategies, including detection models, and emerging technology solutions (e.g., machine learning, behavioral analytics, identity verification tools) to proactively identify and mitigate fraud risk.
Monitor fraud trends, emerging typologies, and industry benchmarks across auto finance and banking to anticipate threats and adjust strategy accordingly.
Partner with Credit Risk, Sales Operations, Customer Service, Digital, and Product teams to embed fraud controls throughout the customer and dealer lifecycle.
Establish key risk indicators (KRIs) and fraud loss metrics; report performance and emerging risks to senior leadership and governance committees.
Own the fraud prevention budget, staffing model, and technology roadmap.
Direct all fraud investigation operations across TMCC and TFSB portfolios, including application fraud, identity theft, account takeover, synthetic identity fraud, dealer fraud, and first-party fraud.
Oversee case management processes to ensure timely, thorough, and consistent investigation outcomes.
Establish investigative standards, escalation protocols, and quality assurance processes to ensure investigative integrity and regulatory defensibility.
Coordinate with law enforcement, external fraud consortiums, and industry partners as appropriate.
Ensure investigative findings inform and strengthen fraud prevention strategy and control design (closed-loop feedback).
Manage restitution, recovery, and loss mitigation efforts related to confirmed fraud cases.
Build, lead, and develop a high-performing team of fraud strategy analysts, and investigators.
Serve as a key advisor to executive leadership and risk committees on fraud and financial crimes risk posture.
Represent TFS in industry forums, regulatory discussions, and fraud information-sharing organizations.
