About The Position

HTC Commercial Flooring is seeking an experienced former installer or flooring professional with strong knowledge in commercial floor coverings to join our Dallas Fort Worth team as a National Field Technician / Field Supervisor. This position is ideal for someone with hands-on commercial flooring experience who understands field work, installation processes, floor preparation, jobsite coordination, and quality control, but is ready to transition into a long-term leadership role off the tools. The Field Supervisor is responsible for managing all aspects of commercial flooring installation from floor preparation through final installation and coatings. This role oversees installation crews, jobsite conditions, quality control, material handling, inspections, and light service work while ensuring projects are completed safely, professionally, and according to HTC Commercial Flooring standards. The ideal candidate must be knowledgeable in all phases of commercial flooring installation and capable of leading crews, troubleshooting field issues, and maintaining strong relationships with project managers, subcontractors, and customers.

Requirements

Previous commercial flooring installation experience required
Strong background in all or most of the following: LVT, VCT, Carpet tile and broadloom carpet, Patterned carpet installations, Ceramic and porcelain tile, Epoxy flooring systems, Rubber flooring, Sheet goods / sheet vinyl, Polished and/or sealed concrete
Strong understanding of floor preparation, moisture concerns, and installation best practices
Ability to manage crews and troubleshoot field installation issues
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Ability to read plans, specifications, and construction documents preferred
Comfortable working independently in fast paced jobsite environments
Willingness to travel regularly
Valid driver’s license preferred

Responsibilities

Oversee all phases of flooring installation from floor prep through project completion
Supervise subcontracted installation crews on retail, commercial, and production projects
Perform jobsite inspections and quality control evaluations
Take digital progress photos and complete required project documentation and inspections
Assist project managers with pre-site evaluations and identify potential installation concerns before project start
Conduct pre-site inspections to ensure job readiness and proper planning
Manage jobsite materials, inventory, and site conditions
Schedule and coordinate labor resources and crew responsibilities
Create and complete punch lists as needed
Perform light service and warranty repairs when required
Evaluate installer and crew performance throughout each phase of the project
Take corrective action when workmanship does not meet company standards and communicate issues to project management
Meet regularly with project managers to review project progress, timelines, and outstanding concerns
Ensure customer expectations are met and exceeded throughout project execution
Maintain professional communication and representation of HTC Commercial Flooring on jobsites
Ensure all OSHA and company safety procedures are followed at all times
Participate in safety meetings and toolbox talks as required
Maintain cleanliness and operability of company tools, equipment, and vehicles
Work overtime and travel as needed to meet project schedules and client expectations
