About The Position

The National Business Development Manager (NBDM) is responsible for high-level sales activities related to new national client acquisition, including both new business and, when necessary, new business within existing accounts at the national level. The NBDM will focus on developing new national account relationships while maintaining strong customer connections, aligning with Ground Masters' mission and goals. This role reports to the Chief Customer Officer.

Requirements

  • High School or equivalent education required.
  • Minimum of 4 years of hands-on sales experience.
  • Industry experience is required.
  • Successful track record of meeting and exceeding sales goals.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Willingness to take initiative, ownership, and risk.
  • Strong computer skills overall.
  • Ability to perform take-offs and prepare detailed bid documents and specifications for snow and ice control services.
  • Highly flexible and adaptable to a rapidly changing environment.
  • Able to multi-task and work under the pressure of deadlines.

  • Well-developed sales skills with the capacity for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Assume direct sales responsibility at the national account level and be available for regular travel throughout the U.S.
  • Develop new national account leads through sales prospecting, including active research, networking, lead generation, pipeline management, Zoom, and Costar.
  • Understand customer needs and effectively position and promote services to meet those needs.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Customer Officer (CCO) and other Ground Masters companies.
  • Ensure effective client communication and achieve agreed-upon client satisfaction levels.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact and liaison between national accounts/clients and Ground Masters to ensure the highest levels of customer service.
  • Build, develop, and maintain strategic business relationships with high-level decision-makers.
  • Utilize and update CRM (Salesforce) to track current and potential customers.
  • Work with the Ground Masters analyst to calculate bid rates for each account and their sites.
  • Create high-level presentations for national account opportunities and assist in the creation of bids and RFPs.
  • Create and follow a strategic sales plan to ensure client expectations and Ground Masters goals are met.
  • Meet or exceed client revenue targets with assigned national accounts.
  • Work with the National Team to manage the preseason property inspection process for new and potential existing accounts, ensuring completion of all staking and photography by Area Managers by November.
  • Collect intelligence on pricing, sales, competition, clients, prospective clients, and industry trends.
  • Achieve and exceed overall sales goals and sales activity standards.
  • Measure and map all client sites to meet their snow removal expectations.
  • Partner with the National Team and other departments during the winter season to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction.
  • Review and follow up on customer service feedback for assigned customers and collaborate with the CCO if a corrective action plan is needed.
  • Control expenses to meet budget guidelines.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes.
