About The Position

The National Account Manager - Retail USA is responsible for expanding the company’s retail footprint throughout the United States. This position plays a critical role in identifying growth opportunities, strengthening customer relationships, and delivering profitable sales growth across plumbing, electrical, industrial, irrigation, and municipal product categories.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing big box retailers, national DIY retailers, building supply dealers, or hardware store accounts at the corporate level.
  • Experience using CRM platforms and other sales management tools.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with a collaborative and customer-focused approach.
  • Positive attitude, responsive communication style, and ability to influence stakeholders.
  • Self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset and strong business acumen.
  • Critical thinker with proven problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Results-oriented professional with sound judgment, attention to detail, and a strong sense of urgency.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of rough plumbing, electrical products, or related building products is considered a strong asset.
  • Previous people leadership or management experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day primary head office sales contact for assigned accounts.
  • Manage and grow existing national accounts while identifying and securing new business opportunities.
  • Lead Product Line Reviews (PLRs) and customer proposals, including strategy, assortment planning, and pricing recommendations.
  • Partner with Sales, Customer Service, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing teams to deliver account objectives.
  • Support the Sales Director in identifying market opportunities, product expansion initiatives, and service infrastructure improvements.
  • Gather and analyze market trends, customer insights, and competitive intelligence.
  • Develop annual sales budgets and prepare customer business plans, scorecards, and performance reviews.
  • Create strategic account plans for each area of responsibility.
  • Develop deep product expertise and serve as a trusted advisor to customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with demand planning and supply chain teams to develop accurate forecasts and inventory plans.
