About The Position

Lead and direct V&V’s account development/management and selling efforts to assertively increase revenue and tonnage sales through national and regional Food Service chains.

Requirements

Outside B2B sales and proven successful track record, including national. Grocery account management experience
5 plus years continuous experience in Food Industry sales.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
Knowledgeable of sales through customer warehouses, distributors, brokers and DSD.
Able to take ownership for the Food Service business nationwide from a strategic perspective, and to drive sales with national accounts.
Effective leader/communicator
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build very good working relationships at the national account and major regional account level.
Hands-on and can-do attitude
Analytic skills, data interpretation, ability to prepare and deliver effective presentations.

Nice To Haves

Experience in perishables, ideally dairy.
Experience successfully targeting the Latino and General market.
A plus if fully fluent in English and Spanish (written and spoken)

Responsibilities

Develop and aggressively implement formalized plans to gain and expand sales to major/national supermarket chains and position V&V Supremo Foods as a “value creating” supplier and business partner.
Responsible for calling key customers, directs and coordinates the involvement of V&V Supremo foods sales resources, brokers and distributors in selling to and supporting these customers.
Hands on customer development and business manage with customers and other key decision makers/influencers within headquarter locations.
Partner with Sales Managers and their sales teams to develop and manage relationships with buyers and other key decision makers/influencers at these customers’ buying/operating centers.
Responsible for managing customer total profit and loss results. Develop, monitor and support the implementation of agreed to marketing and sales promotion plans with these customer.
Work with the National Sales Director to identify and prioritize national Food Service chains and regional chains in target markets for growth that V&V Supremo Foods will aggressively pursue.
For each high-priority Food Service chain, develop and monitor/manage the implementation of an overall account plan that defines the following: specific V&V Supremo Foods sales objectives, approved sales and marketing programs, if/where/how third-party brokers and distributors will be used in selling to and supporting the customer, key contacts in the customer’s organization and who is responsible for developing relationships with these people, and clarifies the accountabilities and expectations of both parties for increasing V&V Supremo Foods sales.
Proactively build senior level relationships, introduce new products, identify and gain agreement for immediate sales opportunities and marketing programs, review historical sales results and the value they have created for Food Service chains, and develop longer-term account strategies by calling on these customers’ headquarters location.
Establish and communicate priorities to brokers and distributors in implementing longer-term account plans and short-term sales plans for these national accounts.
Partner with the Sales teams, brokers and distributors to develop and manage relationships and achieve sales goals with key individuals at these customers’ regional offices and to ensure that agreed to sales and marketing programs are effectively implemented in the field.
Work with customer buyers and Sales Managers to develop accurate sales budgets and forecasts for designated customers.
Responsible for resolving problems that negatively impact sales with designated customers.
Share important customer and competitor information with the Sales team.
Provide timely and accurate reports, budgets, forecasts and other data as required.
Responsible for ensuring that accounts receivables are not delinquent.
Responsible for complying to all Safe Quality Food (SQF) polices/procedures and requirements for position.
Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
