About The Position

The National Account Director (NAD) serves as the strategic market access leader for assigned enterprise payer and healthcare organization accounts, responsible for developing and executing access strategies that optimize coverage, medical policy, and patient access for UroGen therapies. The NAD establishes and maintains executive relationships with national, regional, government, and integrated healthcare organizations while proactively influencing coverage and reimbursement policies. In partnership with Field Reimbursement Managers (FRMs), Key Account Directors (KADs), and Regional Business Directors (RBDs), the NAD serves as the market access subject matter expert, providing strategic support on complex coverage, prior authorization, coding, reimbursement, and payment issues. The role also monitors payer trends and communicates actionable insights that help regional teams identify opportunities and address evolving market access challenges.

Requirements

  • Minimum 15 years of Pharmaceutical/Biotech experience, including 10+ years in Market Access and Managed Markets.
  • Proven relationships with government and commercial payers, integrated delivery systems, professional organizations, and state societies.
  • Current in-depth knowledge of Medicare Part B, Medicare Advantage, CMS regulations, specialty distribution, managed care trends, and Part B reimbursement.
  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical, problem-solving, and business acumen.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced entrepreneurial biotechnology environment.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute enterprise account strategies that optimize coverage, medical policy, and patient access across assigned national, government, regional, and integrated healthcare organization accounts.
  • Identify, develop, and execute business opportunities by focusing on appropriate value-based relationships within key targeted payer and healthcare organization accounts.
  • Demonstrate expertise in payment reform, reimbursement policy, and evolving payment models.
  • Monitor and interpret Medicare, commercial, and integrated delivery system coverage policies, identifying trends and communicating strategic insights to Commercial and Market Access leadership.
  • Establish executive relationships with government and commercial health plans, plan medical directors, pharmacy directors, and key decision makers influencing coverage or medical policies.
  • Execute enterprise market access strategies within assigned accounts while partnering with regional field teams to ensure consistent execution and customer support.
  • Lead or participate in strategic Market Access projects and cross-functional initiatives that support organizational priorities, contributing beyond assigned account responsibilities in a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment
  • Educate and support Regional Business Directors, Key Account Directors, and Field Reimbursement Managers on payer coverage policies, reimbursement trends, and market access opportunities impacting regional performance.
  • Serve as the market access subject matter expert for Regional Business Directors and their teams by providing strategic guidance on complex coverage, prior authorization, coding, reimbursement, and payment issues.
  • Identify and communicate distribution and product access issues or trends to impacted field teams and cross-functional partners.
  • Provide coverage and market access updates at regional and national meetings.
  • Provide payer perspective and strategic input to distributors, contractors, managed markets, medical, marketing, and brand teams as needed.
  • Understand the implications of payer and government regulatory decisions and proactively develop strategies and solutions.
