About The Position

CACI is seeking an experienced Space Vehicle Flight Software Systems Engineer to work with NASA on commercial spacecraft, including Commercial Crew Vehicles, the Human Landing System Vehicle, and the U.S. Deorbit Vehicle. The role involves insight and oversight of human-rated flight software, including evaluating concepts, analyzing flight software requirements and design, assessing software architecture and code, and evaluating verification tests and certification. Particular emphasis is placed on software safety, adherence to software processes, software verification, and certification for flight readiness. Areas of focus include data networks and channelization, fault management, mission sequencing, aborts, emergency responses, and redundancy management. Vehicle system domains include crew systems, displays, avionics, command and data handling, environmental control and life support, power, propulsion, thermal, guidance, navigation and control, communications and tracking, and docking. The work requires collaboration with commercial spacecraft prime contractors and NASA engineering teams. The position is based at NASA/JSC in Houston, Texas, and includes mission support during commercial spacecraft flights in the Mission Evaluation Room. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, technically capable, flexible, and effective in communication and collaboration. The position is contingent on funding and may not be filled immediately; applicants may also be considered for other CACI positions.
