About The Position

CACI is seeking an experienced Space Vehicle Flight Software Systems Engineer to work with NASA on commercial spacecraft programs, including Commercial Crew Vehicles, the Human Landing System Vehicle, and the U.S. Deorbit Vehicle. The role provides insight and oversight of human-rated flight software, including evaluating concepts, analyzing requirements and designs, assessing software architecture and code, and evaluating verification tests and certification. Emphasis areas include software safety, adherence to software processes, verification, and certification for flight readiness. Technical focus areas may include data networks and channelization, fault management, mission sequencing, aborts, emergency responses, and redundancy management. Vehicle system domains include crew systems, displays, avionics, command and data handling, environmental control and life support, power, propulsion, thermal, guidance, navigation and control, communications and tracking, and docking. The engineer collaborates with commercial spacecraft prime contractors and NASA engineering teams. The position is based at NASA/JSC in Houston, Texas, and includes mission support during commercial spacecraft flights in the Mission Evaluation Room. The role calls for strong technical expertise, communication and customer relationship skills, flexibility, and a collaborative, team-oriented approach. The position is contingent on funding and may not be filled immediately; applicants may also be considered for other CACI positions.
