Narrative Research Specialist will research and analyze strategies to amplify overlooked immigrant issues. This role involves engaging with Justice Action Center (JAC) plaintiffs and other impacted individuals to create content that centers migrant voices, using storytelling to support JAC's communications, litigation, and research. The specialist will apply research expertise to shape public narratives, conduct interviews for fact-gathering, empower individuals to tell their own stories, and track emerging legal threats to immigrant-inclusive measures. Responsibilities include developing a story bank, amplifying coalition partners' work and breaking immigration news, and utilizing information from FOIA requests and lawsuits to educate the public on immigrant and asylum seeker issues. The role also involves researching the history of messaging strategies in the immigrant rights movement, reporting on asylum and migration narratives, and participating in research to develop immigrant-inclusive narratives for advocates. Additionally, the specialist will present data in a user-friendly manner for non-legal actors and assist with messaging research projects like focus groups and polls. The position is based in the Los Angeles, CA office but allows telecommuting.
