About The Position
Clariyu Inc. is seeking a Narrative Designer and Writer to contribute to the characters, world, and story of their games. The company specializes in creating cute, cozy, character-driven games on Roblox, drawing inspiration from titles like Animal Crossing and Hello Kitty Island Adventure. Their first game, Let's Go Camping, is a social camping experience centered around unique NPCs with distinct personalities, evolving relationships, and a friendship system influenced by player interactions. The role emphasizes the importance of writing in making characters engaging and aims for a long-term contribution to the studio's narrative voice across multiple titles.
Requirements
- Strong writing with a clear sense of voice, warmth, and character
- Experience writing dialogue for games or interactive media
- Understanding of how narrative works within gameplay systems
- Comfortable working from creative briefs and iterating on feedback
- Reliable, communicative, and invested in the long term
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with life-sim or cozy games (Animal Crossing, Stardew Valley, etc.)
- Experience with quest design or narrative systems
- Background in world-building or collaborative storytelling
Responsibilities
- NPC dialogue that reflects distinct character voices and evolving player relationships
- Quest structures and story beats that feel natural within a live social game
- Character backstories, lore, and world-building for the broader Clariyu universe
- Maintaining a consistent tone and voice across a full cast of characters
