Life SurgePalmetto, FL

About The Position

SurgeU is looking for a Narrative & Content Strategist who can help define not only what we say, but how we frame the story of SurgeU across the entire customer journey. This is not simply a content-production role. It is a strategic messaging role sitting at the intersection of brand, communications, marketing, reputation, conversion, and customer experience. You will help build and maintain the messaging architecture that connects the SurgeU brand to every major touchpoint. This starts with the first ad someone encounters, to the landing page they visit, to the communications they receive after enrolling, to the stories and proof they encounter when they research us online.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in brand strategy, messaging strategy, content strategy, copywriting, communications, brand journalism, creative strategy, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience developing messaging architecture, positioning frameworks, value propositions, or campaign narratives.
  • Strong understanding of marketing funnels and how messaging should evolve throughout the customer journey.
  • Exceptional copywriting and editing ability.
  • Experience writing or directing copy across multiple formats, including advertising, landing pages, email, web, brand content, executive communications, and long-form storytelling.
  • Strong understanding of direct-response principles without relying on exaggerated or manipulative messaging.
  • Ability to translate complicated products or ideas into language that is clear, compelling, and memorable.
  • Strong customer-insight instincts and experience translating qualitative research into messaging.
  • Experience developing customer stories, case studies, testimonials, or narrative proof.
  • Excellent interviewing skills.
  • Strong editorial judgment around claims, substantiation, and factual accuracy.
  • Ability to provide constructive creative direction to writers and other content contributors.
  • Comfort working with senior executives and cross-functional leaders.
  • Ability to move between strategy and execution—you should be willing to build the framework and rewrite the headline.
  • Strong understanding of how Brand, Communications, Marketing, ORM, and Content should reinforce one another.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, copywriting, or a related field is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Helping develop and maintain SurgeU’s overarching messaging architecture, including brand narrative, positioning, value propositions, key messages, proof points, objections, audience-specific framing, and language hierarchy.
  • Translating high-level brand positioning into practical messaging that can be used throughout the customer funnel.
  • Defining how SurgeU’s core narrative evolves from awareness to consideration to enrollment to student experience to advocacy.
  • Developing messaging frameworks for different audiences, products, offers, and stages of customer awareness.
  • Working with Growth and Marketing teams to help shape the copy strategy behind advertising, landing pages, lead-generation funnels, nurture communications, webinars, offers, and conversion moments.
  • Partnering with Creative to ensure campaigns begin with a strong strategic message, not simply an asset request.
  • Helping translate product features into clear customer benefits, emotional outcomes, and differentiated value propositions.
  • Building message hierarchies that clarify what should be communicated first, what supports the primary message, and what should remain secondary.
  • Developing campaign briefs that articulate the audience, problem, tension, promise, proof, message, desired action, and strategic framing.
  • Reviewing customer-facing copy across the funnel for consistency with SurgeU’s messaging architecture and brand promise.
  • Identifying moments where marketing, enrollment, education, or customer communications may be unintentionally creating conflicting expectations.
  • Developing messaging around high-consideration or sensitive topics including pricing, mentorship, program expectations, student outcomes, refund policies, and the role of faith within SurgeU.
  • Ensuring claims and promises are accurate, supportable, and consistent with the actual student experience.
  • Developing narrative frameworks around new products, programs, launches, offers, and company initiatives.
  • Helping executives and spokespeople communicate SurgeU’s story consistently across media, events, interviews, social platforms, and thought leadership.
  • Developing reusable message banks, proof-point libraries, objection frameworks, customer language libraries, and approved claims for use across the organization.
  • Partnering with ORM to understand the questions, concerns, misconceptions, and themes consumers encounter while researching SurgeU.
  • Translating those reputation insights into proactive messaging and content priorities.
  • Developing authoritative content that answers important questions before misinformation, uncertainty, or outside narratives fill the gap.
  • Identifying and developing student success stories, testimonials, case studies, and other forms of credible proof.
  • Establishing the strategic framing behind those stories so they support larger brand and business narratives rather than existing as isolated testimonials.
  • Leading and briefing the AI-Enabled Editor on content assignments, copy development, research, and editorial execution.
  • Maintaining strong standards around brand voice, factual accuracy, substantiation, and editorial quality.

Benefits

  • Health, Dental, Vision, Life, Holiday, and Paid Time Off.
  • Non-corporate, casual, entrepreneurial, comfortable, fun, and proactive work environment.
