The Narcotics Pharmacy Technician supports the pharmacy’s daily operations, including controlled-drug room activities, medication inventory management, packaging, filling, and shipping. The role also follows pharmacy standards and departmental policies and collaborates with the team to support pharmacy goals.

Requirements

Current Texas Pharmacy Technician license.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Reliability and ability to execute multiple assigned tasks.
Basic math and computer skills.
Ability to physically perform light lifting.

Nice To Haves

Previous pharmacy experience.
Frameworks/ECM knowledge.

Responsibilities

Assist the Narcotics Pharmacist Supervisor and Pharmacist In Charge with daily functions.
Work in the Controlled Drugs (Narcotics) room.
Maintain floor stock, restock medications, and remove expired medications in a timely manner.
Assist in processing returned drugs and recycle or dispose of them according to procedure.
Rotate medication-area stock to assure quality controls.
Prepack bulk prescribed medications for the floor.
Package, fill, and ship medications.
Maintain and adhere to pharmacy standards and policies.
Comply with departmental policies regarding safety, attendance, and dress code.
Collaborate with others as a team player to support the goals of the pharmacy.
Complete other tasks assigned by the supervisor.
