About The Position

A laid-back, welcoming Seattle family is seeking a nurturing nanny to care for their infant daughter as they transition back to work. Both parents work in the tech industry, with one parent working from home full-time and the other a few days each week. The ideal candidate is comfortable partnering with present parents while confidently leading childcare. The family values open communication, honesty, humor, and a positive working relationship. Their home is a multi-level townhome near parks, and they enjoy cooking, movies, and a healthy lifestyle.

Requirements

  • Experience caring for infants, including feeding, sleep routines, and developmental play.
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certification.
  • Up to date on infant-related vaccinations (including Tdap, MMR, COVID, flu, and other age-appropriate vaccines as requested).
  • Non-smoker.
  • Comfortable working in a home with a cat.
  • Comfortable working alongside parents who work from home.
  • Physically able to carry an infant and safely navigate multiple flights of stairs throughout the day.
  • Able to maintain a completely screen-free childcare environment during working hours.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to partnering with parents.

  • Bilingual or multilingual abilities.
  • Knowledge of infant developmental milestones and age-appropriate activities.
  • Experience working in collaborative, parent-present household environments.
  • Warm, calming personality that helps infants feel secure and supported.

Responsibilities

  • Provide attentive, developmentally appropriate care for one infant.
  • Bottle feeding and cleaning bottles and bottle parts.
  • Following established feeding and sleep routines.
  • Engaging in age-appropriate play and encouraging developmental milestones.
  • Taking daily stroller walks.
  • Maintaining a safe, nurturing environment.
  • Baby's laundry.
  • Keeping the nursery and play areas clean and organized.
  • Maintaining open communication with parents through brief daily check-ins and ongoing collaboration about schedules, milestones, and upcoming activities.
  • Partnering with parents who work from home.
  • Regular check-ins before and after each day.
  • Carrying an infant throughout the day.
  • Navigating multiple flights of stairs.
  • Enjoying daily stroller walks.
  • Maintaining a completely screen-free childcare environment during working hours.
  • Regular lifting, bending, squatting, reaching and pushing.
  • Lifting 35 pounds safely.
  • Getting up from and down to the floor numerous times throughout the day.
  • Reacting quickly to certain situations.
  • Reacting to emergent situations in a calm, effective and safe manner.
  • Cleaning up of activities.
  • Spending part of each day outside, weather permitting, and engaging in active play.
