About The Position

A warm, family-first household in Chatham is seeking a caring, energetic, and dependable nanny/household assistant to support their growing family. The schedule is three days per week; Fridays required from 8:00 am–6:00 pm, plus two additional weekdays from 8:00 am–5:00 pm (flexible on days). The family has one delightful 3-year-old daughter who is happy, curious, affectionate, thoughtful, and kind. She loves music, singing, arts and crafts, reading, pretend play, and anything pink! She currently enjoys gymnastics, dance classes, and swim lessons. The family feels a younger, energetic caregiver may be an especially good fit to keep up with their active toddler and engage in plenty of hands-on play and activities. The parents describe themselves as hardworking yet balanced, valuing quality family time, kindness, structure, and a positive home environment. They are looking for someone who will become a trusted extension of their family and share their respectful, nurturing approach to childcare. The family pet is a friendly Yorkshire Terrier (minor pet care required).

Requirements

  • Must be able to provide standard vaccinations.
  • Must have a Nanny vehicle.
  • Must be comfortable driving the child to activities.
  • Must be a confident swimmer.
  • Must be proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
  • Must share a discipline style centered on positive reinforcement, communication, consistency, and clear boundaries.
  • Must be able to provide valid work and childcare references.
  • Applicants will be subject to various background screens.

Responsibilities

  • Planning engaging, age-appropriate activities for the child.
  • Preparing lunch and snacks for the child.
  • Driving the child to local activities, classes, playdates, parks, and libraries.
  • Supporting learning, creativity, and developmental milestones.
  • Following the family's gentle but structured discipline philosophy.
  • Maintaining a safe, nurturing environment.
  • Full-house cleaning and organization.
  • Children's and parents' laundry.
  • Vacuuming and general household tidying.
  • Grocery shopping and household errands.
  • Meal preparation for the child.
  • Organization projects such as playrooms, closets, and pantry spaces.
  • Occasional assistance with the family dog, including letting the dog into the yard.
