About The Position

Palo Alto Networks is seeking a Named Account Manager - SLED (State, Local, and Education) for Northern California. This role is a significant driver of company revenue and growth, responsible for leading and driving sales engagements. The ideal candidate is motivated by solving critical challenges in customers' secure environments and connecting them with solutions for threat prevention. This position involves meeting and exceeding quotas by crafting and implementing strategic territory plans targeting deployments of the Palo Alto Networks Next Generation Security Platform. It's an opportunity for a closer with a go-getter mentality to win business and market share by displacing competing technologies. Palo Alto Networks is a leader in platformization, offering best-in-breed solutions for zero-trust security architectures and critical transformations. New sales hires will participate in an immersive onboarding program called FLIGHT, which blends virtual and in-person learning at headquarters, ensuring they are well-prepared to guide customers.

Requirements

  • Experience and knowledge of SaaS-based architectures, ideally in a networking and/or security context.
  • Experience cultivating mutually beneficial relationships with channel partners to bring a channel-centric go-to-market approach for customers.
  • Ability to lead all aspects of the sales cycle with the ability to uncover, qualify, develop, and close new, white-space territories and accounts.
  • Successful track record selling complex solutions.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to work with high levels of autonomy and self-direction.
  • Highly competitive, ramp quickly, extremely adaptive, and pride yourself on exceeding production goals.

Responsibilities

  • Drive and orchestrate complex sales cycles.
  • Work with internal partners and teams to best serve the customer.
  • Initiate long-standing relationships with prospective customers and executive sponsors using experience and consultative selling skills.
  • Create and implement strategic account plans focused on attaining enterprise-wide deployments.
  • Understand the strategic competitive landscape and customer needs to effectively position Palo Alto Networks.
  • Engage a programmatic approach to demand generation, development, and territory expansion.
  • Leverage prospect stories to create a compelling value proposition with insights into value for specific accounts.
  • Stay updated on industry news and trends, and how they affect Palo Alto Networks products and services.
  • Travel as necessary within your territory, and to company-wide meetings.
