Nail Technician - Orthopedics & Sports Medicine Clinic
About The Position
Join Sanford Orthopedics & Sports Medicine, a large, high-volume specialty clinic where podiatry and nail care are vital to patient care and limb preservation. This role supports 4 podiatrists by providing routine and medically necessary foot and nail care for a high-risk patient population. The position is essential to maintaining clinic flow and improving access to care. This role is an important part of a foot care model focused on efficiency, safety, and outcomes. You’ll work in a fast-paced, team-based environment with exposure to additional orthopedic specialties including foot & ankle, hand, and trauma. Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm.
Requirements
- Nail licensure with the Board of Cosmetology in the state(s) of practice is required.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous retail and cosmetology experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provides nail care services in the ambulatory setting under the direct supervision of licensed clinical professionals while maintaining all infection control and nail standards.
- Has knowledge of and utilize appropriate age-related patient care and cultural diversity, relating to the physical and psychological needs of patients from adolescence through geriatrics.
- Prepare patient treatment areas for use; prepare and clean medical equipment; dispose of biomedical waste in accordance with standards and policy.
- Clean and maintain patient care area(s) or treatment rooms.
- Monitors stock levels of medical inventory and restocks or reorders as needed.
- Identify opportunities to improve patient care.
