About The Position

MHIRJ is the fusion of two important heritages: Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) and the CRJ Series program. We provide comprehensive operational, engineering, and customer support solutions, including maintenance, overhaul, technical publications, marketing, and sales activities for the global regional aircraft industry. We are looking for a Senior Contract Negotiator to join our ranks! Job Summary The Senior Contract Negotiator leads the preparation and negotiation of complex commercial agreements, primarily related to aftermarket sales and procurement activities in the aviation sector, but may also be involved in a variety of other transactions. This position reports to the Director, Contracts, and acts as a technical specialist in contract drafting, negotiation, and transaction structuring, providing expert advice to internal stakeholders while ensuring alignment with corporate governance and business objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Law, or a related discipline.
  • 7 to 10 years of experience in contract negotiation and management.
  • Solid knowledge of commercial agreements, negotiation strategies, and risk management principles.
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Bilingualism in French and English (oral and written), with English proficiency in line with general aviation industry standards and practices, and the selected person will regularly communicate with colleagues, clients, or partners located outside of Quebec.

Responsibilities

  • In collaboration with internal teams, lead the preparation, review, and negotiation of complex contractual agreements and proposals.
  • Manage closing activities and negotiations with management, as well as with client and supplier contractual representatives.
  • Provide advice to internal stakeholders on transaction structuring, risk mitigation, and dispute resolution.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for contractual matters for assigned accounts, including interpretation of contractual obligations and proactive issue resolution to protect the company's interests while maintaining stakeholder relationships.
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with client and supplier stakeholders.
  • Ensure all commitments comply with corporate governance and internal approval processes.
  • Collaborate with the legal department on complex contractual matters and escalate key risks as needed.
  • Mentor internal stakeholders on best practices in contract negotiation and account management.
