About The Position

The Department of Information Technology MyChart Technical Support Specialist is responsible for assisting patients with access to their OSU Wexner Medical Center patient portal accounts. This role includes providing information about the patient portal application, forwarding calls as appropriate, delivering excellent customer service, creating trouble tickets when needed, and activating or resetting patient passwords. The MyChart Technical Support Specialist serves as the primary point of contact by phone for all patient portal support needs while ensuring the protection and confidentiality of patient information.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Prior experience in a high-volume call center, help desk, or customer support environment is preferred, ideally in healthcare or IT.
  • Candidates should be comfortable handling frequent inbound calls, providing basic technical support (e.g., password resets, account access), and using ticketing systems.
  • Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle confidential information are essential.
