About The Position

NDI-NM is seeking a passionate Musical Theatre Teaching Artist to co-teach our afterschool Musical Theatre Track for students ages 8–17 at our Hiland Theater. This role is ideal for a strong vocal instructor who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys working alongside a partner with strengths in dance and acting. National Dance Institute of New Mexico is founded with the knowledge that the arts have a unique power to engage and motivate children. The purpose of our distinctive programs is to help children develop discipline, a standard of excellence, and a belief in themselves that will carry over into all aspects of their lives. The position includes 1–2 weeks of summer camp opportunities (June/July), co-teaching 3 musical theatre classes per week. The program runs August 24 – April 27 (31-week Fall/Spring season). The artist will engage and inspire students ages 8–17 in a supportive, creative environment.

Responsibilities

• Attends all enrichment workshops and staff meetings as needed
• Follows NDI New Mexico program curriculum set by program director
• Provides program director with required materials and information as needed
• Subbing classes when available
• Other duties as needed and mutually agreed upon
