About The Position

Chesapeake Montessori is a licensed childcare center seeking a Part-Time Music Teacher to support our Early Childhood Program. This role involves designing and implementing music lessons, introducing fundamental music concepts, fostering a joyful classroom environment, collaborating with staff, communicating with parents, and maintaining musical instruments and materials. The position requires a passion for music, a love for working with children, and a desire for a part-time opportunity in a supportive and professional environment.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree
Experience in teaching music at either the adult or child level.

Responsibilities

Design and implement music lessons that are developmentally appropriate and engaging for young children, using a variety of instruments, songs, and movement activities.
Introduce students to fundamental music concepts such as rhythm, melody, and tempo in a fun and age-appropriate way.
Foster a joyful and inclusive classroom environment that encourages creativity, self-expression, and participation.
Collaborate with classroom teachers and administrative staff to integrate music into the Montessori curriculum.
Communicate effectively with parents and colleagues regarding student participation and progress.
Set up and maintain all classroom musical instruments and materials in an organized and safe manner.
Physical ability to work with small children, including sitting, standing, walking, and singing for extended periods.
