About The Position

Mullen-Hall School is seeking a qualified Music Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The ideal candidate will instruct students in general music, develop and implement curriculum aligned with state standards, and employ effective teaching techniques to ensure student achievement and engagement. This role requires strong classroom management skills, proficiency in music technology, piano/keyboard, and vocal skills, as well as familiarity with assessment strategies. The teacher will collaborate with colleagues, support diverse student needs, and contribute to a positive school culture.

Requirements

• Massachusetts Licensure as an elementary music teacher, required.
• Bachelor's degree or higher with concentration in Music Education, required.
• Successful experience as a general music teacher at the elementary level.
• Proficient music technology, piano/keyboard, and vocal/singing skills.
• Proficient classroom management skills.
• Familiarity with rubrics and assessment strategies.

• SEI endorsement, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Instruct students in general music.
• Develop curricular objectives and implementation strategies in alignment with state learning standards.
• Design, implement, and revise curricular units and proficiency scales.
• Develop daily and long-range plans for each course taught.
• Implement a variety of teaching techniques such as Conversational Solfege, Orff, and Kodály.
• Advance excellence and equity through instructional practices designed to meet the unique needs of all students.
• Employ classroom management strategies to create a safe and supportive learning environment.
• Collaborate with teachers in other discipline areas.
• Evaluate classroom activities on a regular basis.
• Maintain all attendance and grade records.
• Accept supervision and guidance from the Fine Arts Department Head and Principal.
• Attend professional meetings as required and scheduled.
• Contribute to school-wide literacy planning and curriculum decisions.
• Continue professional growth by attending meetings, seminars, courses, and other endorsed professional learning.
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Principal, Department Head, and/or Director of Teaching & Learning.
